All over YouTube, creators are reporting that their views have taken a sudden hit. Some call it a major issue with the platform’s algorithm, others see it as just another phase in the cycle of online growth.
We’ve seen the changes too. Our own numbers shifted this summer:
June: 6.8 million views
July: 7.1 million
August: 5.8 million
On paper, that looks like a dip. But is it a serious one? Or simply the natural ebb and flow of YouTube’s behavior? That’s for you to judge.
Diversification as Strategy
One thing we’ve learned is not to panic when algorithms change. Every platform — whether it’s YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok — has its own rhythms, ups, and downs. When one slows down, another often picks up the slack.
That’s why our strategy has always been diversification. By publishing consistently across multiple platforms, we balance out those fluctuations and keep Finnish Lumberjack growing no matter what’s happening inside one algorithm.
In the end, views rise and fall. What matters is showing up, telling stories that make people think and feel, and trusting that consistency pays off over time.
